Bridging the "Handoff Gap" with 95%+ First-Pass Accuracy for AboundUp

Efficiency Metric
Achieving production-ready status with minimal design revisions.

Background: A Strategic Pivot

AboundUp evolved from a marketing agency into a General Management (GM) and Shared Services engine for the trades. Their model focuses on acquiring and growing HVAC, plumbing, and electrical companies by pairing proven GMs with specialized support teams.

To launch this new direction, they commissioned high-fidelity Figma mockups from ManyPixels. They needed a digital presence that communicated this sophisticated operational model—bridging the gap between high-level investment strategy and hands-on business growth.

Challenge: The Handoff Gap

The challenge AboundUp faced is one common to almost every agency project: The Handoff Gap. This is the frequent disconnect between design intent and technical execution. Most builds fail to translate design intuition—losing the spacing, typography, and subtle layering that makes a site feel premium. For AboundUp, this gap meant the risk of a high-performance brand feeling "broken" or "clunky" once it left the Figma canvas.

Bridging the Gap: 1:1 Implementation of ManyPixels Designs

    The Solution: Precision Engineering

To bridge the handoff gap, I focused on a 95%+ production-ready build using a 100% native Pro/Cornerstone workflow. This ensured the technical heavy lifting was done right the first time, allowing the final revision phase to focus exclusively on evolving business needs rather than fixing bugs.
Visual Complexity: I, Edward Benedict Ursal (A.K.A Cornerstone Smith) built deep, multi-layered background images and gradients natively in Pro, preserving the ManyPixels aesthetic without performance-heavy plugins.

The Mobile Gap: Mockups were desktop-only. I made autonomous responsive design decisions to ensure the GM model felt premium on every device.

Solving the Logo "Symmetry Trap": Reality breaks "perfect" design grids. Client logos vary wildly in height and width, creating unbalanced gaps. I engineered a container-based system using Pro’s parameter features and Loopers to create an illusion of uniformity.

The ManyPixels Figma Concept: A clean, minimal grid that assumes perfectly uniform logo dimensions—a common starting point in high-fidelity mockups.

The Reality Check: When following the mockup literally, the "Symmetry Trap" emerges. Disparate logo heights and widths create awkward, unbalanced gaps that break the premium feel.
      ImageImage
The "Optical Uniformity" System: My final implementation uses a parameterized container system with subtle borders and backgrounds. This normalizes the visual weight of every logo, ensuring a balanced grid regardless of the brand’s original aspect ratio.

      Build Velocity per Page

Speed is a byproduct of a clean, native workflow. By eliminating the 'Handoff Gap' and working 100% natively within Pro/Cornerstone, I was able to transition these high-fidelity ManyPixels designs into production-ready pages in days, not weeks. This velocity allows agency teams to move from design approval to client staging without the typical development bottleneck.
